Scream!

Monday off to a good start but that damn Gazette... When people send me items to go into the gazette i wish they would send a simple word document not live e-mails. GRRRR!
Enough of that I am simply going to print the thing then number the pages myself, so there. Like it or lump it.
I feel better now.
Maybe time to head for the Craft Room AND TIDY IT UP. Does that sound like procrastinating??? Me thinks SO.
I have to do it I can hardly move in there so something has got to go.
Bye:)

Gazette time:)

It's that time again! The February Gazette has to be printed and sent this week. I have to find enough things of interest to fill 16 pages. You might not think that is a lot but it causes me some aggravation and a lot of swearing:)
Had a lovely visit with my cousin James's son James and his wife Siobhan on Friday after having made contact on Facebook. How good is that? They come from Airdrie and are off to New Zealand for a holiday.
Here is a photo of my second cousin James and Siobhan:

Heather and Ted's anniversary-55years!

My cousin Heather and her husband Ted married for 55years-how good is that. I first met Ted when I was 15 I think. And when I last met him he hadn't changed a bit.He and Heather were obviously the perfect match.
I forgot to send a card so I will wish them all the best through their daughter 'cause Heather doesn't read her e-mails, at least I don't think she does.
Lovely Sydney day and heading off to the city for a meeting with relatives from Scotland who have a stop over on their way to New Zealand. Hope to take photos to post later.

Procrastination!

I really need to stop procrastinating! There are so many things going around my brain but I don't take the next step-maybe that should be my New Year's Resolution-Stop procrastinating!

Well done Queensland!

I am amazed at the number of people who are volunteering to help get Brissy back to normal!
Does one's heart the world of good. I have some relatives in NSW who have headed up there to help too.
I have been knitting a beaded skirt for one of my half dolls for about a year now:O
I know that is dreadful but my excuse is that I have arthritis and the weight of the beads is such that I am down to knitting only one or two rows at a time.
And of course if I don't pick it up for a month at a time-well what can I say.
Anyway here are some photos:

Nicki's Cardstock Creations: eCraft Princess Card: "Here is a quick card for you all today. See you after the Holiday week!"

Poor Toowoomba!

I am so sad at the pictures we are getting from Toowoomba. The way the water has just screamed down shoving cars and everything in its path it looks for all the world like the tsunami. Eight dead and 72 missing.
I am adding things to this site and I really have no idea what I am doing.
I am very excited, as a cousin has contacted me on Facebook and we are going into Sydney on the 21st to meet up. They are on their way to New Zealand.
I am off to the craft room now and maybe wait for inspiration-or maybe I should start that tidy up I have decided to do!

Time to get a move on?

Well we have been out and done the edges of the lawn and now I am recovering-not as young as I used to be!  I have taken photos of our first acorns! We planted an oak tree in our backyard in 1986 when we bought our house, to remind us of home and it has taken all this time to get the first acorns.Aren't they beautiful?:)

Ad Sense!

I hope I understand this Ad Sense thing. If not I shall remove it.
Hot in Sydney today and more rain expected but I have done some washing anyway-chances are it will dry. I have been very slack lately, my right leg is killing me and that is my excuse for doing absolutely nothing but the required housework. I am afraid I was programmed early to do all the work before you have fun. I wish I had learned otherwise as sometimes there is not enough energy left for the fun bit. I do waffle on!
What I should be doing is thinking about content for the February Gazette. I am the editor of the NSW PAA Magazine-The Gazette. PAA stands for Porcelain Artists Association. Maybe I should look around some blogs to see if anyone can inspire me. Maybe later Art just rang from golf so he will be home in half an hour for his bacon and egg sanny,

TomTom!

I need to get away from trying to upload our TomTom... Quite frustrating.
I wanted to upload this porcelain picture of a Japanese scene I painted in 2008 I think but couldn't find it earlier. So here it is now. Not a very good photo but will have to do:)
The background is a watercolour (not very good) and the geisha was painted on a porcelain canvas.

Tuesday-and no china painting!

This is usually the day I go to porcelain art but we stop for all the school holidays. Which seems a bit odd when we all such old ladies. Not that I think I am old-it is but a fact! I am still 40 inside my head-a shame about the body. Enough of this twaddle.
Every holiday I decide that I will get on and paint here at home -I do have two kilns after all-but I find I clean my brushes and re-arrange my stuff and that is about it. maybe I need to make a New Year's resolution?
Getting back to the old lady thing-some of the ladies in my group are in their 80's and what we want to know is: How do we encourage younger people to get involved?
Some of the artists in the APAT group are exceptional artists. Their work is modern. I think some people see porcelain art as painted roses but beautiful though they are, roses are not the be all and end all of porcelain art.

These are a few of my attempts. Sorry the photos aren't the best but I didn't have a blog when I snapped these.
Time for a cuppa. Bye.
